HISTORY
Salchi Metalcoat was established 1993 as Salchi Rhenacoat when the two founding partners SALCHI Spa, a leading Italian industrial and coil coatings’ manufacturer and Rhenania Chemische GmbH , a leading German packaging and coil coatings’ manufacturer, part of the German Altana Group, decided to spin-off into Salchi Rhenacoat their respective Italian activities in the field of coil and packaging coatings.
1999 a brand new plant in Burago Molgora (Milan) was started.
2000 the Packaging and Coil coatings activities of Siderius-Siam-Ivis, Milan were purchased.
In the same year the rigid metal decoration inks operation were started.
2004 the former private shareholders behind Salchi decided to buy out Altana and to continue Salchi Rhenacoats’ activities as an independent manufacturer.
2006 Salchi Rhenacoat Srl changed its name into Salchi Metalcoat Srl.
2010 Effective 1.1.2011 the Packaging coatings activities of Rembrandtin Lack Gmbh, Wien, were purchased.
January 2011 Salchi Matalcoat achieved the registration to the Health & Safety management system standard BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
